Hello, my name is Amanda Holleyman.
I'm a 1st grade teacher, currently in my ninth year at Lago Vista Elementary!
I appreciate our community and its wonderful families who support our schools. Our students are a direct reflection of that support.
In first grade, my goal is for students to love learning. This important year marks several milestones for children as they become fluent readers and writers. They learn to reason mathematically and develop instant recall of many addition and subtraction facts. First graders are naturally inquisitive and excited about science, which is readily fostered through exploration. We also focus on being good citizens in a wonderful and free country, building unity while valuing our diversity.
I believe a successful classroom is based on mutual respect, hard work, communication, and fun.
My goal is to treat each student with fairness and high expectations.
