Our school year is well underway and I just got a new student the other day. He has been a wonderful addition to our class.

I am trying to set up conferences or phone calls to each child's parent. I am looking forward to talking to you about your child.


Math: We have worked hard on understanding place value, adding and subtracting. We will be starting multiplication soon. I will be teaching your child some tricks for remembering their multiplication facts.

Reading: We are working on reading books on each child's level . My goal is for your child to become an independent learner.

Writing: We have been working on writing short paragraphs that tell things that your child has experienced. Students use their senses to draw a picture with their words. We have discussed editing and they should know what "CUPS" stands for. We will be working on revising (making our stories more descriptive and interesting) soon.

Spelling: We have a new list every week. It is on the 3rd grade web page. If you need help coming up with a way to work on the spelling words just give me a call.

Science: We are studying the solar system and will be talking about what a "System" is soon.
