Hello, I am Berniece Donnellan and I teach English I, AP English III and IV, and Theatre Arts. I am English Department Chair and UIL Ready Writing, Literary Criticism Coach and One-Act Play Director. I have been teaching for 26 years and this is my 13th year at Lago Vista High School. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Speech and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies.
I have a wonderful husband, Tom, retired submarine Lieutenant Commander, master chef and prop builder. We have three sons, LVHS graduates: Eric,(ACC Visual Communication, Animation graduate) Quentin ( Aggie Aerospace Engineer and geometry teacher at Fossil Ridge High School)and Nathan(Caltech grad and mechanical engineer at E-solar in Pasadena, CA.
During the summer I jog, write, sketch and sew, score AP essays for the College Board in Louisville, Kentucky. I am always looking for that magical play.
Last May, 34 of my juniors and seniors passed the rigorous AP English Language and Literature Exams, qualifying them for college credit.
