ESL pull-out is a 1 hour, small group instructional program devoted to developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

In our reading block, we will be reading books and doing lots of activities to promote literacy and second language acquisition. We also sing songs and play games to reinforce oral language and fluency. In preparation for learning to read, we also work on sight words, anchor words, and high frequency words.

During math time we will use manipulatives and hands-on activities to develop early numeracy skills and number concepts.

As the ESL teacher, I collaborate with each child's classroom teacher to monitor progress and academic achievement.
