The Lago Vista ISD Board of Trustees is committed to ensuring that all of our graduates demonstrate and understand the skills and knowledge needed to successfully enroll in postsecondary education. To this end, Lago Vista ISD is partnering with Austin Community College (ACC) in an initiative called, "The LVISD/ACC College Connection".

To provide a seamless transition to higher education, this partnership between LVISD and ACC gives every senior student in our high school the opportunity to be admitted to ACC. Upon graduation from high school, students who participate in this partnership will be ready to acquire a 2-year degree, a certificate, a license, or complete the first two years of a 4-year degree program at ACC. For students who have already been accepted to, or plan to attend another college or university, these students can, if they so choose, attend ACC during a summer session and receive transferable college credit.

The CareerFoward program takes on the challenge of assisting young people as they prepare for careers in the global market.

Technology, along with many other factors, has leveled job prospects for people all over the world. Career opportunities are more diverse than they used to be, and students today need to be introduced to the growing global competition that they will face. Most important, they need motivation to plan and see the education that is so crucial for their futures.

This website is designed to provide a framework for students and teachers to use as they explore possibilities and learn how to prepare for the future.

Career Cruising is an Internet-based career exploration and planning tool students can use to explore career and college options and develop a career plan. This program can be accessed from school or home.

After you graduate, you may have to pay for housing, transportation, clothes, food....okay, maybe not right away—but eventually. Check out Reality Check to see what you will need to make it on you own.

CollegeAnswer.com is a comprehensive resource that takes the guesswork out of planning and paying for college. Voted "Best of the Web" by Forbes magazine, it walks students through the entire "going-to-college" process- from early planning and estimating costs to understanding student loans. Visitors can access our free scholarship search containing over 2.4 million awards.
