This year, LVES sent 3 teams to competition. Meet them below...

Team Manager: MK Hernandez
Team Members: Ally Peterson, Abby Wernsman, Nina Bortolussi, Jacob Hernandez, Bryce Vogel, Thomas Coffee, and Sam Tiona

The Dids chose the challenge called “Car-DI-ology”. They presented a story about the impact of cards, and then built a structure out of playing cards. The structure was then tested to see how much weight it held.
"They worked really hard and completed all their elements. I am very proud of them!

Team Members: Presley Puschman, Michael Carpeno, Bailey Haire, Cooper Gamblin, Peyton Durham, Mallory Vincent, and Ryan Long

“Round About Courage”. For this challenge the team creates and presents a story of a heroic adventure that includes a personal challenge for the hero to overcome. The presentation had to be done in a "Theater-In-the-Round style and include a Technical Set Piece that brings the story to life. This was the first year for the team manager and for a second grade team to compete from LVES. What an experience for both - and they did a fabulous job!

Team Members: Liana Polikaitis, Katy Hall, Megan Kelley, Allie McKinney, Cindy Metcalf, Emily Wheeler, and Kelsey Mumford

Team TasDI Treats chose the challenge “CSI-DI”. This team had to develop and present an original story about the investigation of a case. They also designed and built a gadget that used one or more of the properties of visible light coming from or into the gadget to reveal and/or analyze at least one piece of physical evidence to help solve their case.
Wow! Fantastic preparation and performance from this veteran team. They placed 1st and will move ahead to the State Competition in Dallas. How Sweet!
