The LVES Mission Statement has been a work-in-progress for over a year. The process has involved community members, students, teachers, custodial staff, maintenance staff, and parents. Our most recent work on our mission was just a few weeks ago when our staff met to create the belief statements that follow our mission statement. This piece of work reflects hours of work and input from every aspect of our learning community. And while the mission statement was formally adopted by our Campus Improvement Committee in Spring 2008, the belief statements are still in their first stages. Check back for changes as the process continues!
Lago Vista Elementary School inspires and supports a safe community of lifelong learners where every individual is valued and respected as part of the team.
We believe…
All teachers develop innovative instruction, provide individualized differentiation, and set high expectations with an outcome of positive student learning.
Students learn best when actively engaged in relevant and challenging work in a diverse, globally-minded learning environment.
Parent participation and support is essential for optimal student success.
Communication and collaboration between parents, teachers, students, and community are essential.
**Community members recognize and respect the inherent value of each individual.**
A district technology commitment is a crucial step in preparing students for the 21st century.
Students should be actively engaged in effective problem solving and independent thinking and be held accountable for their learning and actions.
All children working in a supportive, safe environment will reach their full potential.
All students become successful, independent, and responsible members of the global community.
By nurturing students’ self-esteem we maximize student achievements.
