My name is Eric Holt, and I have been teaching for 12 years, and I have been in Lago Vista for the past eight.

As the Speech teacher, I have the unique opportunity to teach every student that attends LVHS at some point in their high school career. Our goal for that class is to make our students prepared for the many public speaking events that they will have in their lives.

I am also the Speech and Debate coach, as well as the Academic Coordinator for the High School. Our debate teams have always done well, and we regularly compete at the State level.

I am the Yearbook sponsor, and I also teach Advanced Broadcast Journalism. I love to teach the variety of subjects because I am able to see students in many different roles, and I feel like I get to know them better as people.

Before I went into teaching, I spent six years in radio which included hosting my own morning show in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

I am now settled down and married and my wife and I have four boys from the ages of 10 to 3.

And, after 10 years of waiting, I am an Ironman! I did Ironman Wisconsin in September, 2010.
