Don't miss the Oct. 28th PTA meeting. Joining us will be guest speaker, Paul Aleman, with the Office of the Attorney General. Mr. Aleman will give a presentation on cyberbullying and discuss the risks of online child predators and steps we can take to protect our children.

It is officially fall and we are making plans for our annual Fall Festival. Make plans to attend the festivities on Saturday, November 1st from 4pm to 6pm at Lago Vista Elementary School. This event is FREE and open to the public. Each grade will have a booth set up for the kids to play fun games and win prizes. There will be a gift basket raffle with all proceeds going to the reading lab. Please join in the fun activities and wear a costume if you would like. If you have not done so already, please send in 2 bags of candy per family to be used for prizes at the festival. Also, we will need 3 bake goods per class for the cake walk. Non-perishable food items brought to the festival will go towards our annual food drive.

This year we will be having Career Day in place of Culture Day. Career Day will be on November 24th and we will need many volunteers. Contact Lisa Wolff if you are able to help out with Career Day.

Each month, we will be showing our appreciation to our LVES staff. We are gearing up for November's Teacher Appreciation Day and will need your help! In November, we send the teachers home with a "homemade" dessert for Thanksgiving. We have parents provide these desserts and the teachers get to pick one out to take home on Tuesday, November 25th. You will be getting specific details
from your Room Mom about this event and how you can help. This has been a Lago Vista Elementary tradition and we hope you will join us in honoring our great staff! If you should have any questions about Teacher Appreciation, please contact Shanin Smith.

Our school will now be helping the community to Go Green. LVES has started a recycling program for empty Elmer’s Glue bottles and glue sticks, drink pouches like Capri Sun, as well as all cookie packages. Please bring these used items to the front office.

Remember to turn in your labels from Campbell's Soup items, Box Tops, Nestlé water bottle labels, and juice pouches.

Please send these items to school in a baggie with your student's name and the teacher's name on it. On Friday, October 31st, the grand prize will be awarded to one student who helped raise 25 or more Box Tops for our school. All students who collected 25 or more Box
Tops will get their name in a drawing for the grand prize.

Note: Campbell's items must have the little man on them. Nestlé's labels and box tops have to have a good expiration date.

Forms to join the PTA have already gone out in Friday folders. We hope everyone will consider getting involved in this great organization. Each year, the PTA organizes and funds many events that enhance our students' education. To join simply return the form with your dues ($5) in your child’s Friday folder.
