Welcome back Viking Band students for another busy semester! Spring is the time when we really roll up our sleeves and focus on musicianship and playing technique. The spring semester brings UIL solo and ensemble contests for varsity band, concert contests for the Varsity and 7th grade bands, Band trips, and of course, lots of performance opportunities. The 6th grade band will be busy learning scales, how to improve playing as a group, more complex rhythms, and also learning their first real band literature. It will be busy all around. I would encourage students and parents alike to check the band webpage daily for updates and important announcements, as well as to keep track of important dates and band booster meetings.

Students and parents are reminded that the Varsity band spring sectional scedule will take effect after finals are over.

6th Grade! Practice records will start on Monday the 5th, so make sure you take one home with you on Monday and start practicing!
