Social Studies Course Selection for the Fall


Freshman year: 1 credit World Geography
-Covers varied topics as the five geographic themes, world cultures, and the particular countries that make up the political element on Earth.

Sophomore year: 1 credit World History

10th Grade TAKS test
– Covers 8th grade U.S History, World Geography and World History

Junior year: 1 credit U.S. History
or ACC U.S. History Dual Credit 1302-(1865-present)
which we offer on the Lago Vista campus

11th Grade TAKS Exit test
– Covers a few questions from 8th grade U.S. History Pre Columbian to 1887 with emphasis on Constitution
– A few questions from World History and Geography
– Focuses on 11th grade U.S History 1877 to present

Senior Year: 1/2 credit Economics, or Microeconomics A.P.
1/2 credit Government
1/2 credit Psychology- Elective

Although it is not required, because of the TAKS test, we do strongly advise taking these classes in this order.
