Howdy, I am Sheryl Standiford, the 8th grade Science teacher. I have been teaching for 15 years and have been here at Lago Vista Middle School for 11. I love teaching and watching the student's light go on, when they finally understand something.

I am a resident of Lago Vista and my four children go to school here. I enjoy spending time with my family and any sporting events, whether it is watching or playing. My favorite sport to play is volleyball.

This year in Science, we really focus on getting the students ready for the rigors of High School. We will be studying topics, such as, Chemistry, Physics and Genetics. We will also revisit and add to topics, such as, the Universe, Plate Tectonics, Waves, Climate, and Natural Resources. With all this to cover, we will be very busy and I hope to have some fun along the way. Go Vikings!!

I am glad your daughter has chosen to be in 8th grade athletics. I am dedicated to making her into the best athlete she can be.

We will be doing very strenous activities, so, your daughter needs to eat a balanced diet and have clothes to work out only in EVERYDAY.

Athletics is from 2:40-3:30pm
Practices for the different sports will be announced by the coach of that sport.

Don't forget to always give 100% effort!!!
